What is the Miao village homestay like? Is it comfortable?

We work with carefully selected Miao families whose homes have been upgraded with en-suite bathrooms while retaining traditional architecture. Bedding is clean, warm, and appropriate for the mountain climate. It is not a luxury hotel — it is a genuine homestay, and that's the point.

Is Western Hunan safe? Is the infrastructure good?

Western Hunan is extremely safe — one of the safest regions in China for foreign travelers. The roads are excellent (mountain highways with new tunnels). Your private vehicle and dedicated guide mean you are never navigating alone. Mobile signal is strong throughout the route.

湘西非常安全——是中国对外国游客最安全的地区之一。道路状况良好（新建了隧道的山区高速公路）。你的专属车辆和导游意味着你从不需要独自导航。整个路线手机信号良好。

Absolutely. Day 1 is flexible. We can swap the TCM street walk for additional time at Yuelu Mountain, a Changsha food tour, or a visit to Chairman Mao's hometown in Shaoshan. Tell us your interests before booking.
